This Thursday (17th September) we’re appearing on Luke Dubyah’s show on Fire FM as a special warm up to our appearance at Southern Sound Festival this weekend. The show goes out between nine and eleven pm and you can expect to hear us around the ten pm mark.
Fire FM is on 107.6 in Bournemouth and surrounding areas or available as a live stream on the interweb.
Today’s sudden drop in temperature combined with a howling wind and lashings of rain has reminded me that I need to publish where you can find us playing CDs and light heartedly bickering about some obscure musical topic…

Röyksopp have announced a remix competition, with the opportunity to muck about with the forthcoming single “Tricky Tricky”. So obviously Ian Geek couldn’t resist having a go…
The original is one of the Norwegian duo’s noisier efforts, topped off with Karin Deijer-Andersson’s distinctive vocals (Fever Ray, The Knife). Ian decided to ditch most of the original backing, re-make the few bits he kept from scratch, and turned it into an 80’s synth-pop inspired effort.

Southern Sound FestivalIt’s a rare thrill when acts put an acappella of a track on their EPs nowadays, particularly if they’re not of the RnB persuasion.
Erlend Øye has always been one for a bit of freeform improv over track though (check out his fantastic DJ Kicks from a few years back if you need further proof), so its not really surprising that the new single should surface with a lovely clean vocal sat there for the taking.
Did this in a bid to make another rubbish summer seem a bit sunnier, so probably best enjoyed pretending you’re sat by the pool bar in altogether more tropical climes…
