According to Wikipedia…
The fear of Friday the 13th is called friggatriskaidekaphobia, frigga, meaning “Friday” and triskaidekaphobia, or paraskevidekatriaphobia, a word derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Paraskeví (Παρασκευή, meaning “Friday”), and dekatreís (δεκατρείς, meaning “thirteen”), attached to phobía (φοβία, from phóbos, φόβος, meaning “fear”). The word was derived in 1911 and first appeared in a mainstream source in 1953.

CALLING CAIRO (live!) + STEVE HARRIS (XFM) + FUTURECOP! DJ SET (SOUTHERN FRIED ) + GEEK CHIC SOUNDSYSTEM (A.I.T.B.F. / FABRIC) + SAMMIE D (Campari Safari) + ED WILDER (Club NME)
Sweeping all before it, with a strident “Work Hard! Play Hard!” ethos, club night One Party State is already more than a year into the implementation of its five year plan… to provide the best night out for London’s downtrodden workers, at Camden’s Barfly. And it’s paying off – the venue has been packed each time!
UPSTAIRS, prepare for Revolutionary Modern Guitar Music For A Utopian Future from:
CALLING CAIRO
- this new dance/rock band are looking to the glory days of New York nightlife for inspiration and have merged it with melodic indie – big basslines, lots of cowbell and complicated, infectious rhythms. They played our sister night Campari Safari and blew the rest of the line-up away! They’ve been hiding away, working on new stuff and this is their first show back!
STEVE HARRIS (Xfm)
- Steve is king of Xfm’s Evening Show, weeknights between 7pm and 10pm, delivering interviews with touring bands and selecting cool new tunes that are bubbling up. he’s played some great DJ sets for us, so we’ve made him a resident every 2nd Saturday!
ED WILDER (Club NME)
- A man with a vision, Ed has played at the top of the BT tower and to massive crowds at v2008. He’s also the regular DJ at Corrupt’s cutting-edge live nights at Barfly and also a regular at Koko’s massive Club NME. Ed has some fantastic electro remixes coming out soon, so look out for those.
DOWNSTAIRS, get stuck into Decadent Electro ‘n’ Eclectic Sounds from New Wave to New Rave from:
FUTURECOP! DJ set (Southern Fried Records)
- it’s been a while since they played for us live- because they’ve almost constantly been touring Australia and America, playing live shows to massive crowds! they’re huge over there, putting out records on the electro imprint southeren fried records and also through iheartcomix and dim mak… but their life is not all neon glowsticks and American Apparel hoodies going crazy; peter likes to keep one foot in the london club scene with his dj sets – expect a broader set, with techno and lots of new bangers from france – the sounds are changing and Futurecop are evolving…
GEEK CHIC SOUNDSYSTEM (A.I.T.B.F. / Fabric)
- these guys are legends. One half of them used to be a mash-up producer extraodinaire, responsible for quite a few lawsuits and a few chart-breakers, but he’s put all that behind him! As DJs they’ve notched up some great gigs, with Fabric under their belts and DJ supports with Erol Alkan, Ewan Pearson, Serge Santiago and Justin Robertson. Expect lots of naughty edits, plenty of synth lines and dress to sweat… they tear it up with their fast, infectious mixes!
SAMMIE D (Campari Safari)
- the crack team of Campari Safari party-starters count Secret Garden Party as a fixture, as well as Italian hot spot Urban, in Perugia. The DJs are selected for their ability to craft fantastical journeys through dance music, taking in disco to acid house to electro of the old and new, with some pop gems. Tonight we have the return of London-via-Melbourne DJ Sammie D, who has been accompanying Rob Safari on some euro dates in Italy and Austria and honing his production skills in an all-analogue studio – watch this space for new, lovely warm-sounding tracks!
£5 if you text VOLTAGE FACEBOOK to 60300 (costs 12p)
